Helpful Sweet Corn Info:


Sweet Corn has 3 main categories and all are available in Yellow, White and Bi-Colour (Yellow & White together).


1. Standard (su) genetics This type converts sugar to starch quickly and is often the first corn of the season. It contains 10 - 15% sugar. 


2. Sugary Enhanced (se) genetics This type converts sugar to starch at the same rate as standard sweet corn, but has a higher sugar content of 35% sugar.


3. Super Sweet (shrunken 2 sh-2) genetics In this type conversion to starch is almost non-existent. This type keeps the highest % sugar. We recommend using this type for freezing because of the high sugar content. It requires shorter cooking time of only 3 minutes in boiling water.
